Waggott To Meet Wasps Chief About New Ricoh Deal

Coventry City CEO Steve Waggott will meet Wasps Chief David Armstrong next week in a meeting where the subject of the Sky Blues being at the Ricoh Arena will be discussed.

City's current contract with ACL of two years plus two more ends in the summer and the Wasps Chief has said that he would like the Sky Blues to stay.

Armstrong told the Coventry Telegraph's Simon Gilbert: “We would love to welcome them on a longer-term deal, whether we will manage to achieve that or not, I’m not sure.

“They have got off to a great start, they are playing a much better brand of football under Tony Mowbray and I would think that’s helping to bring in bigger crowds.

“Bigger crowds means more food and beverages are sold, but it’s not a big chunk of our profitability.

“But it is an important part of having a mixed-use facility and we are proud and pleased to have them there.”

However, the Sky Blues have maintained their desire to have all the revenues from a stadium and also have an option to use Sixfields which could be vacant if Northampton Town go out of business.
