The paper work had been completed but the deal was never completed and according to the Wolverhampton Express & Star today , Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has said: "The option for him to go to Coventry may well have gone, because it hasn't been done.
"It was set up to be done but they didn't do it, so we'll see because there are a few clubs that want him.
"More than likely a loan will happen, but not just yet because he's gone away with Wales. There's nothing going to happen for a while.
"Where he goes, I don't know but it's been a shame for Sam."
