According to various media reports, former Coventry City midfielder Tim Sherwood, the current manager of Aston Villa is looking to bring in Charlie Austin rather than former City striker Calum Wilson.

The QPR striker had been linked with a move to Newcastle United with West Ham, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Spurs but odds have been slashed on Villa, who now have the money following the sales of Fabian Delph and Christian Benteke, taking Austin and ending any interest in former City striker Callum Wilson who is expected to start the Premier League season with AFC Bournemouth.
