Coventry City caretaker manager Mark Venus thought his side were fantastic during their 3-1 win against Northampton Town in an EFL Trophy Southern Section Group D game at the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday night.
Venus told Billie Marshall: “Any win at this moment of time is good for us, but I thought we were fantastic today. I was pleased that we scored not only three goals, but three very well taken goals. We conceded a poor goal so quickly after going in front, but the lads reacted well and took their chances.
“I really enjoyed the performances of certain players tonight, and the goals from Jodi, Ruben and Dan were all of the highest quality. It’s good to see that individuality on a football pitch and they all shown what ability they have.”
