Coventry City Technical Director Mark Venus has said that he is hopeful that the Sky Blues will be able to re-sign Sam Ricketts and Marcus Tudgay.
Speaking about the duo to the Coventry Telegraph, Venus said: “There’s been progress with them.
“We haven’t made them definite offers but I have been in contact with their agents and to be honest, I put it on hold a little bit when the manager’s situation was in the press.
“So I think it was right to hold it for a week and now hopefully we can progress it a bit further. The manager wants to try to get them back in the building and hopefully we’ll do that.
“We need a squad of players with different skill sets. I think they both contributed enormously last year and we will try our best to keep them as long as they are understanding as to where they are in the squad list, but hopefully we’ll get them back in.”
