Venus - The Players Should Take Responsibility

Coventry City Interim Manager and Otium Director Mark Venus has said that the Coventry City players should take responsbility for the 4-0 FA Cup loss at Cambridge United.

Venus is quoted by Cambridge News as saying: "It’s a terrible afternoon and I have to stand here and take responsibility for everything, which is fine, but I think everyone, the team, should be stood here taking responsibility as well.

“It’s a hard enough job as it is, but when people come to watch and get a performance like that, we’re nothing but disappointed.

“I feel for everyone who’s connected to the football club – I feel for the goalkeeper coach who played in the FA Cup final 30 years ago, I feel for the kitman who has been at the club for 30 years.

“I could stand here and break it down and rip it all apart if you want, but the bottom line it was a day where we let everyone down and I’m stood here taking responsibility.”
