COVENTRY CITY U18'S 2-0 MILLWALL U18'S BY KEV MONKS
Coventry City U18's put in a workmanlike performance to see off Millwall in an Inter League game.

With Brian Borrows fielding a strong side and one containing a number of players who are being released, a good number of scouts were at the Alan Higgs Centre to see Lions striker Gary Noel fire over and then Cameron Belford push a Michael Noone effort over the bar in the eighth minute.

Rikki Bains and Ben Turner were commanding at the back with Ryan Lynch,Adam Layfield and David Burtoft all able to get forward and in the 20th minute, it was Ryan Lynch who has made it to the first team fringes who put City ahead when his header from a corner flew into the net.

City were always on top despite the South Londoners winning a couple of corners after Paul McCrink had been cautioned for a bit of afters following an earlier incident where he was kicked in the head by Ben Payne.

it was the Northern Irish U17 international who wrapped up a good win for the Sky Blues in the 54th minute. Ryan Lynch fired in a low drive which was spilled by Wall keeper Tom Crowther into the path of Adams Layfield. The midfielder who had again had performed well, slammed in the rebound, Crowther got a hand to it and Paul McCrink was there to bundle the loose ball into the net.

It was a win tinged with sadness when Vijay Sidhu had to be taken off via the electric cart which whizzes around the pitches at the Alan Higgs Centre. The striker had fallen heavy under close scrutiny from a Millwall defender and had received a knee injury.

City U16's beat Millwall 3-2.
