U18's Lose,Derby Top and Leamington Through

Coventry City U18's lost for the third time in seven days with a 3-1 defeat at Aston Villa. Ashley Cain scored for Brian Borrows side.

Derby County top the Championship table tonight after a 1-0 win at Southend United. The win which came courtesy of a Steve Howard first half goal sees The Rams overtake Birmingham whose game at Leicester was postponed due to high winds and damage to nearby buildings.

Elsewhere, the few Cardiff fans able to get into Molineux after the local police got away with issuing an away fan ban saw their side win 2-1. Dennis Wise was banished to the stands during leeds 3-2 home defeat by West Brom whilst Preston beat Stoke 3-2 at Deepdale.

There were also wins for Ipswich,Sunderland and Barnsley for whom Martin Devaney scored, Palace drew with Hull whilst Burnley's home game with Norwich was called off.

In League One, Wayne Andrews scored on his Bristol City debut in a 3-0 win at Oldham whilst at Cheltenham, Former City trialist Bas Savage putting Gillingham ahead in the fifth minute at Whaddon Road, JJ Melligan equalised with a peach of a free kick in the 16th minute before Gills defender Ian Cox was sent off just before Half-time. The game finished 1-1 and saw Craig Reid as an unused substitute.

In the Conference North, Nuneaton Borough beat Redditch United 1-0 whilst Southern League action saw Rugby Town beat Tiverton Town 4-1 and Bedworth United draw 3-3 with Cinderford.

It was FA Vase day and 100 /1 outsider for the Coventry City managerial vacancy Jason Cadden saw his Leamngton side reach the Vase 5th Round for the first time in their history when they beat Bemerton Heath Harlequins 4-1 at the New Windmill. Former Sky Blue Ben Mackey scored twice to take his tally for the season to 19 with former Academy youngster Dave Pearson and Martin Thompson. Graham Mankin was on target for the Salisbury based side.
The Fifth Round draw is on Monday and will feature Quorn who have Robert Betts,Adam Layfield and Vijay Sidhu on their books who beat Stratford Town 2-1.

In the Midland Alliance, Racing Club Warwick lost 2-0 at Market Dreyton whilst Atherstone's game was postponed.

Coventry Sphinx's trip to Bolehall Swifts was postponed but Alveston drew 1-1 at home to Highgate, Brereton beat Massey Ferguson 2-0 and Coventry Copsewood drew 0-0 at Cadbury.
