Two On Trial

Micky Adams has taken West Brom's Artim Sakiri and Hearts Neil Janczyk on trial. The City boss is keen to get his squad together for next season as early as possible and has decided that the besy way to do this is by taking players on trial. Sakari is a Macedonian international midfielder who has played 33 times in two years for the West Birmingham side whilst Janczyk has progressed through the ranks at Hearts and played 27 times for the Edinburgh based club.

Micky Adams told the CET: "We have got a couple of triallists in ,and between now and the end of the season I would imagine there will be a few faces in the football club because we need to see people with thoughts for next season.

"That's not saying these players are going to sign, but we need to try to look at as many players as we can between now and the end of the season, and the agents will flood me now in the last three weeks of the season with people who may or may not be available for next season. "So I would rather see them in training and in our own environment than look at them on video tapes.

"It is a great theory to try to get a squad in place as soon as possible so that everyone starts pre-season training. In an ideal world I would love to get a squad settled as soon as I can and ready for the first day of pre-season training, but in reality I would have thought it won't happen. "Players are silly because instead of getting involved in pre-season training straight away they hang on and hang on for better deals and effectively what they are doing is ruling themselves out of pre-season and it is nonsense."
