Two Massive Games - Bell

Coventry City winger David Bell has described the home game against Bristol City on Boxing Day and the home game against Brighton & Hove Albion on New Years Eve as "massive games."

Speaking to the CT, Bell, who was back in the starting line up for the defeat to Peterborough,  said:“The next two games are massive for us/

“We are nearly half way through the season and we need to start winning games if we are going to get out of the trouble we’re in.

“They talk about the magic 50 points to make you safe. It might be a little bit less this year, I’m not sure, but if we’re looking to get out of it we need another 37 points from 24 games which means you are probably looking at winning half your games.

“We have definitely got the players to do that but, given our situation, I’d be lying if I said it hadn’t crossed the boys’ minds we could go down.

"We’ve just got to try to remain confident for as long as we can and win a few games.

“I’ve been sat on the bench for a good few games now and sometimes when you take a back seat and look at things it is very frustrating, as it is for the fans.

"But when you take part in it on the pitch you just wonder if and when it is going to drop for us.

“We’ve gone that many games where we have been so close but just haven’t got that bit of luck we need and, if I am being totally honest, it all gets a little bit disheartening.

"You keep thinking ‘when is it going to be our turn, when are we going to get a break?’

“But at some point it has got to come as long as we keep putting in the work and effort – eventually we’ll get that slice of luck we need and hopefully go on a good run.”
