Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland are reported to be chasing striker John Aloisi.

The Australian who has been released by Spanish side Osasuna despite regularly being on the score-sheet, was sold to the Northern Spain side for £2m by City who have not received all the payments for this due to problems with the Spanish bank which under wrote the deal.

Aloisi joined from Portsmouth for £650,000 and made his Sky Blue debut in December 1998 as a sub in the 1-1 draw with Derby. Under Gordon Strachan he made 18 full appearances (24 sub) and scored on ten occasions.
