Cody McDonald, was rested as a precaution by Coventry City boss Andy Thorn from the 1-0 defeat for City Reserves at Birmingham City yesterday.

McDonald had twisted his ankle in training on Monday and was left out in the hope that he will be available for Saturday’s game at Leicester City.

Speaking to the CT’s Andy Turner, Andy Thorn said: “He was due to play yesterday but he went over on his ankle on Monday and was too sore to play.

“I left him out more as a precautionary measure than anything else and I am still hopeful he will be OK to be part of the squad on Saturday.

"He’s looked a lot sharper and fitter since coming back from his knee injury and it will be good to have him available for selection.”
