Tuffers Called Up

Former Coventry City keeper Jon Tuffey has been called up for the Northern International squad to face Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Tuffey who was released by Micky Adams after captaining City Academy to a divisional title and playing for the reserves as well as a couple of first team friendly appearances, has a three year contract at Scottish side Partick Thistle and has progressed through the Northern Irish age groups.

He has been playing for Northern Ireland U21's and now has been drafted into Nigel Worthington's squad.

Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has been linked with a move to take Craig Bellamy from West Ham. The former City striker and mate of Freddie Eastwood, has played for Hughes at international level and at Blackburn Rovers.

Zavon Hinds scored for West Ham in an extra time 4-1 League Cup win against Macclesfield Town.
