Leamington FC increased their lead at the top of the Midland Alliance with a 2-0 win at Leicester based Friar Lane & Epworth.

After a tight goal-less first half, Jason Cadden's side were ahead in the 49th minute when Coventry based Martin Thompson capitalised on a mistake by the home keeper.

With eight minutes left, Leamington who had brought on former Sky Blue Ben Mackey wrapped up the game when anther former Sky Blue Dave Pearson got on the end of a cross from the left to score from close range, delighting a large travelling support.

Elsewhere in the Alliance, Atherstone beat Studley 6-1,Racing Club Warwick came from behind to beat Causeway United 2-1 and Stratford Town beat Boldmere St Michaels 2-1.

In the Midland Combination, Massey Ferguson beat Coleshill Town 2-1,Coventry Copsewood drew 0-0 at home to Pilkington but Nuneaton Griff lost 1-0 at Bolehall Swifts.

Bedworth United were beaten 4-1 at Burton Albion in a Birmingham Senior Cup tie.
