Tuesday For League Cup Draw

The Football League have confirmed that the draw for the First Round of The Carling (League) Cup will be drawn on Tuesday morning at 9.30am.

Newcastle United and Middlesbrough have received byes as the highest placed clubs in last season's league tables from the First Round which will comprise of seventy clubs.

The Football League has also said that: "The next 35 clubs in last season's tables (down to Walsall - 13th place in League 1) will be seeded and drawn against the remaining 35 clubs.

As usual the First Round draw will be split into North and South with 17 Northern pairings and 18 Southern ones."

Coventry City are in the Northern Section and will face one of the following teams: Accrington Stanley, Bradford City, Bury, Carlisle United. Chesterfield, Crewe, Darlington, Grimsby, Hartlepool, Lincoln, Macclesfield, Morecambe, Notts County, Port Vale, Rotherham or Stockport County.
