Tudgay Wants City Contract

Marcus Tudgay has said that if everything is right, he would love to sign a contract for Coventry City.

Tudgay told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: I have come here to show what I can do and the manager has been fair and brought me away with the lads and he didn’t have to do that.

“I just want to have a good crack at it and earn myself a contract here.

“I’m 31 and feel good. I’ve got no qualms about dropping down to League One. At the time I was looking there weren’t many options and my agent was speaking to the manager here who said come along and do some training.

“I needed to stay fit and I can do as much running as I want on my own on the treadmill but you don’t get the ball fitness that you get training with a squad.

“So given the opportunity to train here, even if I didn’t get a contract I will have a good base. But I am in a half decent state now fitness-wise and hopefully I can impress. And if Steven Pressley is happy with what I am doing then fingers crossed something can be done.

“But I really thank the club for looking after me. Everyone has bent over backwards to make me feel welcome here and I just want to get fit, show him that I can still play and score some goals.”
