Trust Working On New Strategy

Last updated : 04 February 2015 By Sky Blue Trust

Members of the Sky Blue Trust met on Monday night at its regular monthly open meeting, primarily to discuss the outcome of the "Trust stance" ballot which had been announced earlier that day.

The result was a vote of over 80% in favour of Option 2, which said that, to reflect the huge disenchantment with the attitude of the owners of the Club, under whose seven year stewardship the Club has reached its lowest ebb, we ask SISU to seek new owners for the Club who would purchase SISU's interest.

Many views were put forward as to the way that the Trust should now progress following this clear mandate. It was agreed that an action plan would now be drawn up by the Sky Blue Trust board, featuring a number of different strands. Other Trust members will be invited to join groups charged with carrying out specific aspects of this new strategy.

One thing that those in attendance were clear on was that it was now critical to move forward. The Trust notes that an independent enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the sale of ACL to Wasps has been proposed.

Whilst that may or may not take place and might produce findings of interest, our major concern is not the past but the future of CCFC. The owners of CCFC should now be open about the current financial state of our club, the size and regularity of interest payments on loans to the mysterious Cayman Islands based ARVO, the financial viability of the proposed new stadium and how this would be financed.

Above all, we look forward to the day when our Club has owners who share the supporters’ ambition to see the team playing at the highest possible level of English football.  We also want such owners to work in genuine partnership with supporters generally.

The Sky Blue Trust wants all sides to put the past behind them and to move on. The future of our club is hanging by a thread and we feel that supporters should now work together to give us all a glimmer of hope.

An outline of the new planned strategy will follow at the earliest opportunity.
