Trust Call For Honesty

The Sky Blue Trust is calling on Ray Ranson and SISU to be honest with the supporters of Coventry City Football Club about their intentions for the forthcoming season.

When the Sky Blue Trust met with Mr Ranson in November 2007 he stated he "wanted to build a stable, inclusive Premiership club" and this would be done by "through investment throughout the whole football club including the Academy and youth team to build for the future rather than for the short-term."

However this plan for the Football Club would seem at odds with the activity supporters have witness during the closed season with the sale of former Club Captain Scott Dann and the news that Danny Fox was having a medical at Celtic.

The Trust, as evident by the appeals it ran, believes it is important to have the Academy so the likes of Ashley Cain, Jordan Clarke and Adam Walker being promoted to the first team squad is superb, if the Club has any ambition to return to the Premier League then players with experience and talent must be brought in to work alongside the Academy graduates.

The Sky Blue Trust hoped that with the takeover the days when supporters were given false promises and hope were over and so is calling on the Football Club to make a positional statement on why these players were sold when they were seen as key personnel by Chris Coleman.
