Coventry City have, as expected signed Tom Davies from Portsmouth.

The defender, was at Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers as a kid but was released before he was sixteen. He played for Team Northumbria at University before joining Fleetwood who then loaned him back to FC United of Manchester.

In 2015, Davies joined Accrington Stanley making 33 appearances and scoring once before moving to Portsmouth in 2016 for whom he has made 12 appearances.

The fee for Davies, is of course with everything since Sisu took over, undiclosed and the 25 year old centre half has signed a deal which should keep him at the Ricoh Arena, if City are playing there next season until June 2019.

Speaking about the signing of Davies, City boss Mark Robins told the club website:  “I am very pleased to complete this transfer and to be able to add another quality signing during a busy transfer window, and I’m grateful for the additional support from the club to do this.

“Tom is an aggressive and strong centre-half, both of which are key attributes in this league, and we look forward to welcoming him to the squad.”
