Tierney In Charge

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's Championship game against Sheffield United on Tuesday night is Paul Tierney from Lancashire.

Paul got into refereeing after seeing a poster advertising a referees course at a sports centre. He was appointed to the Referees list in 2008.

This will be his third game of the season and his first League One match. He has shown 3 yellow cards and one reds and his last match was Rotherham United 3-0 over Burton on Saturday.

His last City game was the 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough last season and he was also in charge of the 0-0 draw at Reading the season before.

His assistants are Danny Gratton and Paul Hobday. Fourth Official Daniel Meeson.
