Tidy Reid Can't Save Tamworth

Craig Reid put in a "neat and tidy"performance on his debut for Tamworth.

The striker on a four week loan after scoring on sixteen occasions for City Reserves played the whole game for a relegation haunted Lambs side in a 2-0 defeat at Gravesend & Northfleet.

Locally, Nuneaton Borough kept up their bid to replace Tamworth in the Conference National Division with a 3-1 home win over Gainsborough Trinity.

In The Southern League Division One East, Bedworth United went down 2-0 at Leighton Town whilst in the Midland Alliance, Leamington were beaten 3-2 at Westfields, Racing Club Warwick drew 0-0 at home to Alvechurch and Straford were beaten 2-1 at home by Causeway United.

In the Midland Combination League Cup Semi-Final,Atherstone Town take a three goal lead into the second leg with a 3-0 home victory over Shifnal Town.

Premier Division games saw Coventry Sphinx keep the pressure on the Adders with a 7-3 win over Continental Star. Scott Furlong must have wished he was watching his beloved Coventry City against Leeds as his Copsewood side were beaten 1-0 at home by Brocton. There was better news for Massey Ferguson who beat Bridgnorth Town 3-1 ay home.

Elsewhere,Nuneaton Griff won 3-0 at Pershore Town with Alveston triumphing 1-0 at Barnt Green Spartak. Southam United were beaten 2-1 at Tamworth based Bolehall Swifts.

Kenilworth Town drew 1-1 at Burntwood,Stockingford also drew 2-2 at Knowle and th Leamington Hibernian won 1-0 at Newhall United. Warwick Town also triumphed winning 2-0 at Castle Vale Reserves.

Kenilworth Wardens were beaten by Alvis 1-0 in the Bermuda Cup whilst Wardens reserves won 6-2 at home to Bilton Social.
