Three More Opponents For Next Season Sorted

Coventry City supporters can expect trips to St Andrews,The Hawthorns and Roots Hall next season after Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion were relegated and Southend United were promoted.

Birmingham needing a win to keep their faint Premiership hopes alive could only draw 0-0 at home to Newcastle United, unfortunately for the side which has Eric Black as Assistant Manager, Portsmouth won 2-1 at Wigan Athletic comdemning Blues and West Brom to a season in the Championship. In League One, Southend United clinched promotion after a 2-2 draw at Swansea City.

Locally, Warwickshire triumphed over Leicestershire with Nuneaton Borough beating Hinckley United 2-0 in a Conference North game. In the Southern League, Rugby Town drew 1-1 at Bedford Town whilst Bedworth United won 2-1 at Cinderford Town.

In the Midland Alliance, Leamington who face the Sky Blues on Tuesday night lost 3-1 at home to Loughborough, but Racing Club Warwick managed by Marcus Law won again this time 2-0 at Coalville Town. Stratford Town lost 1-0 at home to Oldbury United.

At the top of the Midland Combination Premier Division, Atherstone Town and Coventry Sphinx both reached the 100 points mark. Atherstone beat Coventry Copsewood 1-0 at home to take their points tally to 101 with Coventry Sphinx also winning 1-0 at Pershore. Jimmy Ginnelly and Martin Ashcroft's side have a game in hand on Sphinx who play their final game of the season on Monday at Pilkington XXX.

At the other end of the table, Massey Ferguson remain second bottom after losing 4-0 at home to Shifnal Town. Fortunately for Massey's they wont be relegated as the top three in the first division do not have their ground up to the required standard. Elsewhere,Southam United beat Meir KA 2-1 at home.
