Former Coventry City midfielder Kevin Thornton scored on his debut for Rugby Town tonight.

Thornton was one of three new players in Dale Belford's side for the away game at Carlton.

Rugby took the lead through David Kolodynski in the first half and in the second, Rugby were awarded a penalty which Thornton, who has played for the likes of Brighton, Coventry Sphinx, Nuneaton Town and Barwell, converted by sending the keeper the wrong way.

Jake Healy scored a third before the home side pulled a goal back against a Rugby side which picked up their first away NPL Division One South victory of the season.
