Thornton joins Nuneaton Town

Former Coventry City midfielder Kevin Thornton has joined Nuneaton Town on a non contract basis.

Thornton has Joined Nuneaton from Coventry Sphinx for whom he played three times and scored twice.

Thonton came through the Coventry City Academy and made his debut for the Sky Blues in September 2005.

Thornton went to Brighton in 2008 on a three month loan deal, before rejoining Coventry City.

He left the club by mutual consent  on July 9th 2009 with no reason officially being given. He had appeared in court in June on charges related to drink driving offences and failing to stop after an accident. He was found guilty and given a 22 month driving ban and a £2750 fine.
