Richard Shaw has spoken to the club's website and praised Andy Thorn influence and help during his career.
The pair met when they were both at Crystal Palace and have remained friends ever since.
Shaw believes that Thorn had a huge influence over the way in which he developed as a player and credits the City boss with making him become the player he was.
