Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has been motivating his players after a enduring a torrid time revolving around unfounded and malicious rumours suggesting he had quit as manager, dressing room strife and a lengthening injury list.
Thorn has told his players to keep believing in themselves and that they have the ability to beat local rival Nottingham Forest ob Saturday.
In the two weeks since the last game, Thorn's preparations for the game have been complicated with injuries to at least five key players. He has also had to try to second guess who will be selecting the Forest side after the departure of Steve McClaren as manager.
As ever, a positive Thorn insists his players are good enough to face the challenge as he seeks to lift his side out of the relegation zone with only their second win of the season.
Speaking to the CT, Thorn said: “My job is to make sure my boys are wound up and ready to go so that we can explode on Saturday. It’s important we stay focused on what we’re doing because we have got some really good games coming up that we’re looking forward to.
“We believe in what we are doing and we believe that the way we are playing is the right way. Our home form has been terrific and we have to keep that going and bounce back.
“I was going through things this week and the main reason the lads have been disappointed is the performance at Barnsley on the back of what we have been doing.”
