Thorn Still Undecided About Captaincy

Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said that he is still to decide on who will be the City captain this season.

Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Thorn said:"I’ve not made a decision on the captaincy yet.

"It’s still very early in the pre-season so there’s plenty of time yet. Gary’s had it a couple of times and he’s definitely a contender. He’s been at the club a long time and it means a lot to him.

"He’s come back in good shape and he’s working hard, so he’s definitely in my thoughts.

"Kev Kilbane (pictured below) is another one with all his experience, or I might go with one of the younger ones and throw the cat among the pigeons. I gave the armband to Conor in the second-half at Hinckley and again the other night against Brora, so I’m not ruling that out.

"But there’s no rush with that and it’s all about fitness at the moment. We’ve still got four weeks to go before the start of the season and I’ll be looking for leadership among the boys as the weeks progress."
