Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said that he has been boosted by the signing of Cody McDonald, keeping key players and having players such as Gary McSheffrey come back from injury.

Speaking to Sky Blue Player, the City boss said: "The international break allowed us to get a few more bodies out on the training pitch.

"Cody has settled in well, he is training well and he will score goals there is no question about that.

"But I would imagine it might take him a couple of games to get going as he hasn't had any competitive games this season, it has been all training.

"Getting a new player in, getting injured players back out on the training pitch and keeping hold of your so-called bigger and better players can give you a lift and we have had all three of them in the last week or so - I can see the light at the end of the tunnel."
