Andy Thorn has once again praised his squad after they ground out a 2-1 victory over another side chasing a play off place.
Coventry beat Millwall in a close fought encounter at The Ricoh last Saturday, which means since he took over in temporary charge of the team, Thorn has beaten Watford, Portsmouth and now Millwall as well as earning a draw at Burnley who are all hoping to claim a top six place.
The Sky Blues won the game with two goals from Marlon King, one in each half with the Millwall equaliser coming in added time at the end of the first half from a powerful long range shot from Andros Townsend.
Millwall had Neil Harris sent off just over a minute after coming on as a half time replacement. Harris was shown a straight red card for a very late tackle, followed by what looked like a stamp on Coventry midfielder Aron Gunnarsson.
Speaking after the game Thorn sad to the CT: "We knew it was going to be difficult because they're a good side."
"I have just said to the boys that we have had games against Watford, Portsmouth and Burnley who are all chasing promotion who are where I feel we should be. I think this group of players is the best group of players the club has had since we got relegated."
"They have got belief in themselves and if handled correctly and looked after, we can be as successful as everybody wants to be at this football club. They came and changed their shape to cope with us which is a compliment in itself which is nice. We will find hurdles everywhere we go at the moment."
"I really believe in this group of players. They are answering every question that we are throwing at them. We have had three wins, two draws and one defeat and I would have settled for that when I took charge. I think we have lifted everybody as well."
"It's important we gave everybody something to cheer about. I thought the supporters were really great today, they really got behind us and I am sure they will have enjoyed it even though it was a bit nail-biting at times."
