Former City hero David Thompson was the last ever away player to score at Highbury.

Thommo struck in the first half to put his Wigan Athletic side 2-1 up with a stunning curler. Thierry Henry bagged a hat-trick to give the Gunners a 4-2 victory and a place in next season's Champions League. Arsenal will move to their new home at Ashington Grove at the start of next season after 93 years at their North London home.

Richie Partridge has been released by Sheffield Wednesday. The winger who joined City on loan will look for a new club this week.

Jim Smith, whose time at Coventry City was unsuccessful, is also believed to be considering his future after his Oxford United side were relegated from the Football League yesterday. Smith was a mentor during his Derby County days for the new England manager Steve McLaren and rumours abound that Smith may be given some role within the England set-up.
