Coventry City midfielder Conor Thomas has admitted his delight at signing a new contract.

Thomas who broke into U18’s as a fourteen year old and now, after a loan at Liverpool is, a first team regular told Sky Blue Player: "I am happy to sign the contract and stay here and it is always nice to get a new deal. The gaffer has rewarded us by starting us and now getting the deal so it is good.

"For me, I just want to get my head down now and focus on the football. I want to kick on from here and keep doing what I am doing.

"I am still young so the main thing for me is just to be playing and it's great I'm playing at this level early on in my career.

"We are playing good football so hopefully the results will begin to turn for us now. It has took the pressure of me a bit to see a few of the younger players coming through into the first team and it builds a good atmosphere for the squad.

"I want to play every game and I am enjoying the role in the side. Hopefully my first goal for the club won't be too far away, fingers crossed.”
