Thomas - Glad To Be Involved Again

Coventry City midfielder Conor Thomas has said that he is glad to be part of the first team set up again.

Thomas is hopefully back for the Sky Blues against Crawley tomorrow after he was knocked unconscious by an elbow during the New Year's Day win at Rotherham United.

“I don’t remember a thing about the game,” Thomas said to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole. “I remember being on the coach and eating my pre-match meal and the next thing I was waking up in bed and my nose started bleeding.

“I didn’t know where I was because I couldn’t open my eyes at first but our physio Dave Hart was there and he explained what was going on.

“It was a little bit scary but a lot worse for my mum who was listening to the game on the radio and was obviously very worried.

“I heard a few different stories afterwards – some of the lads said I did all right, some said I was terrible and Oggy told me he’d lent me £3,000 before the game but I knew better because he’s always a bit dodgy!

“Apparently it was an elbow; I don’t think he meant it but I got caught as I went up for a header – just one of those things that can happen

“They thought I might have broken a cheekbone but had a scan and it was just bruising. I feel fine now, but they like to give you ten days after concussion before you get involved in any contact training.

"They said we had to take it day by day, go through the right procedures, but I’m just glad to be involved again because when you’re off for a few days you miss the banter and everything.”
