There's No Complacency Here- Mowbray

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that there is no complacency ahead of the Sky Blues' FA Cup tie with Northampton Town.

Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph: "They are doing well, on a high and will be coming here to the Ricoh in a positive frame of mind and probably see it as a good time to be coming to play us.

“There’s no complacency here because I think Northampton will be able to smell an opportunity. They have got some very experienced players.

“There might be a perception that we’ll turn up against a League Two side and steam-roller over them but we have played five League Two teams and not won in pre-season and then Yeovil in the JPT.

“We’re mindful of a team on the front foot and ready for us."

City have a depleted squad available for the game with Romain Vincelot who is suspended for the game after picking up five bookings, join the list of those unavailable and Mowbray said:

I think they will see it as an opportunity and we have to go again with a pretty depleted squad. But everyone should be looking forward to the challenge.

“We need to dig in really deep and find the energy reserves.

“We are at the bare bones and will register three young boys today to make up the bench, boys that wouldn’t normally be anywhere near.

“It’s an opportunity for Conor Thomas who has had a frustrating start to the season with the concussion issues and a hip injury. We’re managing him through that, and it will need addressing at some stage, but we need him right now.

”He’s a very talented young guy and he has to show he’s up to the challenge.”
