There Is Competition - Vincelot

Coventry City midfielder Romain Vincelot has said there is now competition in the City squad.

Vincelot, whom City paid Leyton Orient for, told Keiran Crowley at this morning's press conference: "This is competition now. Everything matters now. Any mistakes, anything will be exposed now.

"This is what the players are waiting for, it's where you can see the differences between whether you have a good team which will fight and being good enough.

"Obviously the gaffer thinks we need attacking options. I think we've got a good squad, young, but the potential is so good. I think with the team we have already if two or three quality players come in, we could be in store for a good season.

"I think I can add a bit of ferocity and get the ball back in the midfield. I will try to do that, that will be my role.

"From what I've seen we have that. It's a very healthy group, there's no bad egg, when we go to training everyone tries to help each other and is positive. There will be some games when we struggle of course and you need your team-mate there to support you rather than shout at you.

"I'm just somebody who wants to win. I don't fancy pre-season because there is nothing to win. I will do whatever it takes to win. If I have to foul for the team I will! Obviously I like to play football as well!"
