Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said that whole mentality of the squad will change and has promised a tough pre-season.

City have already lined up the customary trips to Hinckley (July 14th), Nuneaton (July 28), Bristol Rovers (Aug 4), Port Vale (Aug 7th) and will have to play all their pre-season games away from home as the Ricoh Arena will not be handed back from the summer control of Olympic Games organisers LOCOG.

Speaking about the pre-season to the CT's Andy Turner, Thorn said: “The pre-season will be away games and we’ll get some tough Championship games when they play-offs are all sorted out.

“We have got a programme that will be proper tough. We’ll be fitter and stronger than we’ve ever been before.

"The whole mentality of the place is going to change and we’ll have new faces coming in which will give it a fresh look.

“We’d like to have the new players in before we start training on July 1 – that’s the aim.

"Whether I get there or not is a different matter but that’s the aim.

“We’ll still enjoy ourselves and there will be a buzz about the place but the whole atmosphere is going to change. There are so many things that have been done here over the years that won’t be done again.”
