Coventry City manager Steven Pressley praised the spirit of his team during the 2-1 League Cup defeat to former Premier League side Cardiff City.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole, Pressley said: “I think we showed a lot of trepidation in the first half but we grew into the game and I thought we were excellent in the second half.
“We had three players making their first-team debut and they all did well – Jack Finch, in particular, was superb – so that says a lot about what we are building here. The problem is that we lost and I don’t want to be sitting here saying that we played well and have nothing to show for it.
“But the spirit was excellent and some of the football we showed in the second half was highly encouraging.”
