The Shuffle Is On

Micky Adams is shuffling his pack ahead of the visit of Colchester United on Monday night.

With David McNamee out for six weeks and left back Marcus Hall sidelined for possibly the same time, Andy Whing out on loan at Brighton and not able to be recalled for the first month and the proposed loan for Richard Duffy failing through due to injury ,the City boss has been forced to go experimental.

Now Adams could field reserve team left back Ryan Lynch as a replacement for Marcus Hall. Whilst regular reserve team watchers know that Lynch is a highly capable left back, whether he can do the same in the first team is entering into the unknown. However, Adams since he joined the club has a shown a noticable reluctance to bring in reserve team players with no first team experience and this option looks to have been ruled out.

Mikkel Bischoff who has yet to make his league debut for the Sky Blues could be another option. The Dane signed from Manchester City in the summer played part of the midweek reserve game at Peterborough United at right back.

He told the CT: "I played at right-back for part of the game, as well as centreback, so it was a little bit of an experimental match. "I have played there before, although I am more comfortable at centre-back, but I am more than happy to play there if the manager wants me to."

Chris Birchall is another option at right back and said: "I prefer to play on the wing or wing-back but if I am needed to do a job I am more than willing to do so."

Another option may be to play the loan that Micky Adams is trying to sign over the next few days.

Who plays well will become clear when the team is announced on Monday night.
