The Scene Is Set

The scene is set for the England U21 game with Germany tonight at the Ricoh Arena. A packed house for the first time since the stadium was opened in August 2005, will see the first U21 game in Coventry since 1988.

Both sides trained at the Arena last night with Peter Taylor's England side looking the sharper in front of goal. The England manager whose side go to Leverkusen on Tuesday for the Second Leg of this U21 European Championship Play-Off Semi-Final was delighted with the news that all tickets which were very reasonably priced have been sold for the game.

Gate receipts are being split 50/50 between CCFC and Arena Coventry Limited.

The importance of a sell-out crowd has not been lost on England U21 Captain Nigel Reo-Coker who told TheFA.com: "It's not simply about the 22 players on the pitch, the supporters here can really help a lot. "When crowds get behind the players it can provide a massive boost, which could make a difference on the pitch. "You only have to play an away game, like the one in Switzerland, to realise how intimidating it can be when you haven't got that many people supporting you. "The crowd can play a part in being like the 12th man and we hope we can give them all something to cheer about on Friday."

If you have a ticket for the game which kicks off at 8pm, you are advised to arrive early, especially if you have not been to the ground before. The M6 is expected to be busy as is the A444 from 5pm onwards whilst the trains are currently running as per time table. The 103 bus will run the station to the ground.
In the Park and Walk sites you can pay for your parking at the Arena ticket office (Go to the end booth to pay for your ticket).

Please note that in accordance with UEFA Under-21 rules, no alcohol will be served from the kiosks around the main concourse area of the Arena before, during or after the game.
