According to a website page put up by a group calling itself - The Highfield Group, a group of businessmen want to buy Coventry City FC.
This group, which appears nameless and faceless, wants supporters to donate £3m before June 04th 2014 via a website in order to help fund a bid for the club and have issued the following statement:
"A club has been ripped away from its community. Somewhere along the lines the hierarchy has forgotten what keeps a football club alive - its fans.
Coventry City FC is on its knees, but you the fans can bring it back to life.
The Highfield Group is calling on all Coventry City fans to make a contribution to our campaign, which will ultimately take the club out of the hands of SISU and put it back into the hands of passionate Coventry City fans.
We, The Highfield Group, are local businessmen preparing a take over bid. Most importantly however, we are long standing supporters with the expertise and ideas to bring the good times back to the city of Coventry.
Thats our promise. "
