Coventry Sphinx maintained their assault on a second place finish in the Midland Alliance with a 2-0 victory at Heather St John.

Sphinx, who have signed former Bedworth United player Matt Brown, took the lead through Josh Ruff on the half hour mark and Luke Williams, who is second top scorer in the Midland Alliance added a second in the 56th minute.

Sphinx travel to Ellesmere Rangers on Tuesday night.
