Coventry City manager Steven Pressley was full of praise for his team's efforts during the 0-0 draw at Oldham Athletic.

Whilst, some of the City support at Boundary Park were clearly unhappy with the ability of the Sky Blues players especially in front of goal, an area City have been poor in since the departure of Leon Clarke to Wolves, the City boss praised his players, telling The Press Association:  "It's evident that we aren't playing free-flowing football at the moment, but the effort was magnificent.

"In terms of togetherness and working hard to get a result, I couldn't have asked for much more.

"I need to instill more confidence because there's no doubt that our confidence has been affected over the last couple of months.

"Without that you don't perform with the same fluency, but it was a great effort from the players in a game that was pivotal for both sides.

"There weren't a lot of chances and it wasn't one for the purists, but both sets of players showed true commitment.

"Jordan Clarke was mammoth for us in defence and the players gave everything, so our supporters can be proud.

"Everyone got excited when we had a terrific period earlier in the season, but I've said from the start that survival would take some beating.

"In our circumstances it would be an unbelievable achievement to stay up and, although there's plenty more work to do, we are getting there."
