FOLLY LANE 1-3 THE BELL/AEI RUGBY

It will be an all Warwickshire final of the Coventry Charity Football Cup after The Bell/AEI Rugby booked their place in the Ricoh Arena Final against Whitnash Town with a 3-1 win in the second Semi-Final at Coventry Sphinx.

At Coventry Sphinx FC, in front of a good crowd, there was just eighty seconds gone when Robert Crinigan got down the right side of the penalty area and forced James Wardle in the Folly Lane goal to save with his feet.

Folly Lane drew first blood after two and a half minutes when a neat move saw the ball fall for former Coventry City youngster Jayden Rickhuss to volley home off the underside of the cross bar.

In an entertaining game, played in a good spirit, both sides forced a number of corners before The Bell attacked in the 35th minute and Jimmy Smith, who had a fine game, was on hand to fire into the net.

Twelve minutes into the second half and The Bell had a second goal thanks to Dan O’Toole getting to a ball from the right and finishing smartly.

Folly Lane had a 75th minute Luke Seery shot from 35 yards land on the roof of the net and four minutes later, saw a corner scrambled off the line..

Substitute Lee Sheehy headed a Seery cross over. The Bell countered, winning a corner which James Wardle dropped and watched as his defence managed to hack away.

With five minutes left, The Bell booked their place in the final on April 23rd when a break saw Liam Charlton played in and the substitute lashed into the net to give his side a 3-1 victory.
