Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd have moved to play down the recent boardroom squabbles at the club,claiming the off field issues are not impacting on the players.
Boothroyd says his players are focusing on their forthcoming home game with Crystal Palace on Saturday rather than dwelling on affairs they have no control over.
Coventry City Football Club has been rocked by the resignation from the board of directors of Coventry born and lifelong fan vice chairman Gary Hoffman over the decision by the club's owners Sisu to allow the transfer of 17 year old Conor Thomas to Liverpool in January.
Ray Ranson, who holds around 20% of the shares in the club remains a the club chairman although he is also thought to have disagreed with the sale of the young players to raise much needed cash.
The media were instructed by the club not to question the manager about the boardroom disagreements and reshuffle at any of his press conferences prior to Saturday's important home game with Crystal Palace.
"No because I am a big believer in controlling the controllable and what I can control is the players during the week and the training we do to get a team ready."
"What I need to do is focus on my job which is picking the best team available and choose the tactics and win some games. We are looking forward to the challenges ahead and whatever goes on in the background goes on because I can't control that."
"The players are very simple people and as long as they get paid for a good day's work they are happy and everything else will take care of itself."
Coventry go into Saturday's game badly needing a win as they have only picked up three points from a possible 30 in their last ten games.
