Coventry City midfielder Jay Tabb is to be offered an extension to his contract which expires next June.

The midfielder signed from Brentford, could talk to other clubs from January 1st but City have decided not to let that happen and will shortly begin talks with the player about an extension.

Chairman Ray Ranson maintains that there have been no official bids for Tabb from any club including QPR who have been reported as sniffing round and told the CT: "He did a fantastic job for us last season and quite rightly got Player Of The Year. "He has got one year left on his contract and we will try to get together with him and his agent in the next few weeks to agree a new deal."
