Herbert Kendall, founder of the Coventry City Supporters Club and Co-Founder of the National Federation of Supporters Clubs was today remembered today to mark the anniversary of his death on June 4th 1948.

Kendall had laid in an unmarked grave at Stoke St Michaels Church on Walsgrave Road, Coventry until Coventry City Club Historian Lionel Bird discovered this and launched an appeal to raise funds for a headstone.

This was unveiled on June 4th 2004 and today on the anniversary of his death, flowers were laid to remember Herbert and the good work he did in those early days to unite football supporters across the country and for those in Coventry to have a better say in the running of Coventry City, by Lionel Bird on behalf of the Coventry City Supporters Club and Kev Monks who is a Vice President Of the Football Supporters Federation.
