Striker Search For Thorn

Landing a natural striker will be one of Coventry City manager Andy Thorn's wishes when the transfer window reopens on Sunday for a month.

Speaking to the CT, Thorn, who has missed the benefit of a goalscorer like Marlon King, said: “I have had a chat with the powers that be about what I think we need to kick on and be successful and I am sure, as they have said, they are going to help me and hopefully that will be the case.

“That’s an area I am desperate to improve us in and hopefully I can do that because a natural goal scorer is worth his weight in gold.”

When asked if he thought any of his squad would be leaving, Thorn said: “I don’t know yet but I have told Steve and Tim what I think we need and they’ve promised to help me.

“As long as I get the opportunity to operate in the market and do what I want to do, I’ll be happy.

"I understand and know the situation at the club but at least I know I can bring players in.”
