Former Coventry City player and manager Gordon Strachan has been appointed manager of Middlesbrough FC.

The Scot who has also managed Southampton and Celtic will be unveiled at a press conference at 2.30pm this afternoon.

Strachan was in charge of 215 games at Highfield Road before he was sacked after being the only manager in the club's history to relegate the Sky Blues from the top flight. City won just 70 of those matches.
