Stokes: We Should Have Seen The Game Out

Last updated : 29 November 2015 By CNS Staff

Coventry City defender Chris Stokes has said that the Sky Blues should have seen out the game against Doncast when they were leading.

Speaking to Matt Joyce, Stokes said:"Having been in front twice in the game we should have seen the game out.

"It was a slippery surface so it was difficult for both keepers, but we have to protect Reice a bit better. The conditions will get worse than that later in the season.

"The goal is sometimes going to happen when we play from the back, we don't want to just whack it up there, and Flecky was brilliant all game apart from the error.

"We come into every game at the Ricoh Arena thinking we'll win so draws feel like defeats, particularly today.

"We had chances and some of them didn't go our way today, we should have won with two goals though."
