Stokes Looking Forward To Getting Back To Training

Chris Stokes has said that he is looking forward to getting back to training on Thursday with Coventry City.

What players there are, will report back for duty on Thursday morning at Ryton and speaking about this to Andy Turner of the Coventry Telegraph, Stokes who will miss the opening League One game of the season at Swindon Town due to a one game suspension, said: “I’m really looking forward to getting started again.

“It’s similar to last season. I was probably one of the first ones to sign last summer and when I went back there was hardly anyone in the changing room.

“I was thinking ‘blimey, how are we going to get on here,’ and then you get one signing and then you get another one and another one and then you start to get a feel-good vibe that we could really do something.

“And I think it will be the same this year. I am sure the manager isn’t panicking and there’s nothing to worry about because there are a lot of players out of work looking for clubs and everyone is thinking, ‘should we sign him, or should we sign him,’ so it’s a case of wait and see.

“And I am sure when pre-season starts there will be a flurry of signings and as long as they are coming in when the pre-season games start then we can have time to gel, which we did last season.”
