Stick With Us Says Coleman

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has urged City supporters to stick with the Sky Blues.

"I can't blame the fans," said Coleman to the CT.

"I hope I have always been as honest as I can with them. Of course they are going to be disillusioned because we have been saying all along that we want to add to the quality that we have got and we have lost two of our best players now.

"I can do one of two things. I can spit my dummy out and throw my hands in the air and say I never came to join Coventry City for that. But it is part of the job and I have got to work round it and go and try to replace them if I can. And that's what I will try to do.

"I urge the fans to stay with us. We have had some good support in the pre-season and the fans can see we have got some really good young players who are doing well.

"But I know the writing is on the wall. If we do not improve on what we have got it is going to be another really tough season for us. We know we have got to improve the squad and everyone knows that and we are going to try to do that."

He added: "I think all of us are disappointed and that includes the chairman and the board. We have not got the players we wanted to get in and we have lost two of our best players.

"Unfortunately the danger was always there but we have still got time to improve on what we have got. We need to bring in at least another three bodies and we all know that."

"We have not worked any less in this transfer window than we did last summer," he said. "The problem is we got six last time and it hasn't happened this time. But things change a football clubs.

"We had a plan and I have to understand that sometimes we can't invest as much as we want to invest and when I would like to. So I have got to be patient and the main thing is the financial stability of the club. That is not to say we are not going to invest, because we are.

"We have got some good money in from three players, and I include Robbie Simpson, and now we have got to reinvest in the squad and we all know that before the end of the window.
